Pallet shuttles for high handling capacity

A pallet shuttle system has many benefits, from high throughput performance for complete pallet channel filling and emptying to collision-free storage and retrieval. With an Under Pallet Carrier (UPC), carrier truck and channel racking, the makes optimum use of storage space. Channel racking accommodates numerous pallet channels at different heights and widths. A low height utilisation per channel level allows for effective use of available storage height. Any Jungheinrich forklift with sufficient residual capacity can be used as a carrier truck.

Semi-automatic shuttle storage

The pallet shuttle is highly effective for repeated storage and retrieval in the same pallet channel. The Under Pallet Carrier is raised onto the carrier truck forks and inserted into the pallet channel, travelling independently under the stored pallets with no link to the carrier truck. Sensors detect the position of stored pallets, ensuring collision-free storage and retrieval of new pallets. The forklift driver can collect more pallets and start the next storage operation while the carrier is moving.

When a channel is to be emptied completely, the pallet shuttle automatically carries each pallet in the channel to the retrieval side, where it is removed by a forklift and transported to outgoing goods. This function is also possible if a specific number of pallets are to be retrieved. If there is no storage or retrieval taking place, all pallets can be automatically transported to the retrieval side.

Flexibility with shuttle system variations

Different versions of the pallet carrier system allow you to handle different load carriers in the same rack system, such as Euro or industrial pallets. Sensors automatically detect the size of the pallets. LiFo (Last-in-First-out) and FiFo (First-in-First-out) retrieval is also easy to do. The cold store version of the shuttle can be used down to -30 °C. A second battery set with a charging station greatly increases operational readiness.
